Home–where my travels always start and usually ends

I am born in Manila and raised in Las Pinas City. Almost all of my family and relatives (father side) are from Iloilo specifically Duenas and Dingle. I have been to Iloilo about 30-40x already specially during school breaks and holidays. Now that I am working as a business analyst here in Makati I go to Iloilo more to visit my grandfather and other relatives specially during long weekends. I can understand Kinaray-a and also to some extent Hiligaynon but I cannot speak fluently.

I love to travel around the Philippines and beyond and my work requires me to read business-related blogs so I am familiar with it so I decided to put up a blog. I intend to showcase the beauty of our country through the photographs I publish through my blog.

I’m an amateur photographer/hobbyist. Started in 1994 with a simple point & shoot film camera. Realized that I love taking pictures, so as they say, the rest is history. I’m a member of the Photographic Society of Iloilo and currently the President.

I was born in Iloilo, graduated in UPV 1988 and a CPA. I’m currently the operations manager of a softdrinks distribution company in iloilo.

I want to share what I know about photography with those who are interested to learn. Blogging provided me with a medium to spread the word.

The person who influenced me into creating a blog was Ms. Joy. She’s a teacher at UPV and a classmate in photography class at WVSU.

Since Grade 6 I’ve had several achievements and awards in the field of Campus Journalism, Public Speaking and Leadership. Last school year 2007-2008, I was awarded as one of the “Ang Batang Lider” - The Outstanding Student Leader of Iloilo City (TOSLIC) awardee by the H.A.L.I.G.I. Foundation prior to my accomplishments as Chairman of the Laboratory School Student Council (LSSC) and SG Senator of WVCST.

High School ups and downs have taught me a lot of lessons in life that I am trying to apply to be a better person.

I have a lot of hobbies and competitive activities to be proud of that are mostly found in my blog.

Blogging is one of my favorites so far - it just makes me think a lot always on what to write in my posts, the concept and style of writting and the things to do to improve my blog. A lot of good bloggers inspired me to start my own one. It just all started when I was funned of reading some posts on Photography and Philippine tourism.

Though I’m still fixing some tiny parts of my blog (that never ends, hehe.), just feel free to surf my blog - you are all very welcome. I hope to meet a lot more friends online. God Bless us all and Thank You.

A network systems specialist and consultant in one of Iloilo’s call center simulation facility. Focused on hardware hacks and what makes the internal systems work. Started blogging when I was on the prowl for a free hosting until I stumbled with wordpress, got lots of account on them unfortunately I can’t remember my passwords.

With over a decade to boot as an internet café owner wayback in mid 90s, Suplado is a forerunner of the internet awareness in a once laidback town where he was born and raised. Suplado is fond of capturing moments either by camera, his PC and this shows in his photographs as well as in his blogs. He is “blogger” personified. This makes his webpage an item to keep coming back to. For whatever waking moment he has left for the day, everyday, Suplado enjoys being online. He finds insights in reading blogs where the thrill is in discovering what other people are thinking about all across the globe — what they are hoping for and dreaming of. Conversely, he finds fulfillment in doing the blogs himself.

Ø My great grandparents from my father’s side are from IloIlo. “Lolo Damian” is from Hilado, Zulueta, and Pilla families of San Dionisio Iloilo while my “Lola Miray” is from the kinship of Ledesma, Taasan and Tapangan families of Tigbauan, IloiIlo.

A child at heart

I was born in Barotac Viejo, a northern town in Iloilo. I spent my pre-adolescent years here and studied elementary at St. Paul School. Spent my High School years at Iloilo National High School - SSC and graduated college at UPV. Currently I’m working here in Iloilo City in a Webmaster staffing company. I love Iloilo and want to travel and explore it’s hidden beauty, especially the beaches and the mountains. I blog because I want to express myself through writing. I want a place where I could store the things that inspire me, interest me, the things I love and just anything that pops into my mind. Events Conspire

I started blogging when I was still studying in Manila, back in the days when blogging wasn’t a world wide phenomenon. No one actually introduced me to blogging, probably the reason I started one was not actually for the love of writing, though its a part of it, but mostly because of boredom. It was then that I used to regularly update everyday, writing about everyday nonsensical things about weird thoughts, cynical opinions and semi raging reflections.

There was a lot of bad spelling and wrong grammar.

Then I went back home to Iloilo, and my entries are reduced to a weekly thing, since the internet connection here sucks and, weirdly enough, have more incidental brownouts than Manila. But that still doesn’t reduce my love for Iloilo, I’ll take the brownouts and ghastly internet connection here anyday in exchange for traffic, pollution,
bad cono’s etc.

If I have one gripe, its the lack of good books here, or even a decent bookstore … but I digress. Where was I? Oh yeah, I grew up in Iloilo, with WVSU and UPV in my belt (Manila was a fluke, but a very good one) . Now proudly working in AM Builders Depot, I may not have the time to blog regularly, but at least I have time enjoy life. And hopefully blog about it soon.

Hmmm, so why do I blog? I like to write. A lot. Like I can’t stop. Ok, I’ll stop. Now. That’s it.
