I might not be born and raised in Iloilo but I have Ilonggo roots (my dad is from Pavia) and an Ilonggo by choice. A History graduate from UP Visayas (Miag-ao, Iloilo) who is now currently taking up graduate studies in Manila and still seeking for the job that fits me the most. My interest in Ilonggo’s dramatic past and its culture and experiences from being the Queen City, to a Commoner and then to a New Dame.
I started blogging back in 2005. Everything seems so foreign and because of the tragedy of not working at the school paper again, I have to voice out my opinion, experiences and commentaries. I blog because I write. I write because I wanted to
share the experiences and opinions that I have. I blog because hopefully I can help other people with what I write. I blog because I love to meet new faces and places. I blog because I love to blog.
I was a bit curious what blog is until I saw the Friendster Blogs which I early utilized. There, I put up my commentaries and opinions, my expressions of emotion, thought and experience. From that point on, it became addicting…it was like an online journal.
Blogs:
- HabagatCentral Republic - This is my main personal blog. All my personal opinions, expressions, emotions, rants and some interesting articles are posted here.
- Taralets! - This is my travel blog. It was an offshoot of HabagatCentral Republic which specializes about my travel experiences, Filipino culture, history and more. The difference of this travel blog is that its based in the eyes of a “professional commuter.”
- Iloilo Heritage Blog - A collaborative effort of the bloggers Marcos Caratao Jr, Gian Carlo Alvarez, Rex Dianala, yours truly and the rest of The Heritage Conservation Society - Iloilo Youth Chapter. Still under construction, it is aimed to create a complete online database of Iloilo’s rich heritage sites in order to aid the academe, students; promote the Ilonggo culture to the Ilonggos themselves and the rest of the world.
